A woman has been killed after a surfacing whale smashed into a tourist boat off the coast of Mexico.
Jennifer Carren was thrown into the water off Cabo San Lucas, on the Baja California peninsula.
The boat's captain and another tourist jumped into the water to try to save the 35-year-old Canadian.
Ms Carren was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead.
Two other tourists were reportedly hurt but it was not immediately clear how serious their injuries were.
The boat's owner, Cabo Aventura, said the whale had jumped out of the water right in front of the vessel and had hit it on the side.
