Oscar Pistorius "laughed" after firing his gun through the sunroof of a car while with friends, a court has heard.
Darren Fresco, identified by witnesses as being with the runner on two occasions when a gun was fired in public, told North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria the gunshot was fired with "no warning" and made him "flinch" and "duck down".
He said he asked Pistorius if he was " ******* mad". "He just laughed about what had happened. It felt as if my ear was bleeding," continued Mr Fresco.
The athlete's ex-girlfriend, Samantha Taylor, who gave evidence in the trial last week, was also in the vehicle at the time, in late 2012, the court heard.
Pistorius earlier arrived at court as the trial entered its seventh day. He denies murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year.
:: Sky News' live coverage of the trial is under way, and a special highlights programme will be broadcast every weekday at 9.30pm.
Mr Fresco said the athlete had a "big love for weapons" and also recalled the occasion when Pistorius asked him to pass him his gun at Tasha's restaurant in Johannesburg on January 13 last year.
He said he warned Pistorius his Glock pistol was "one-up" - that it had a bullet in the chamber - and that he thought he saw the runner remove it.
Pistorius takes his seat in the dock for the seventh dayThe gun went off under the table, followed by a "deafening hush" - and Pistorius "instantly" passed the weapon back to him and asked him to "take the rap for it" because there was "too much media hype" around him.
Mr Fresco told the court no one knew where the bullet had gone and that when the restaurant owner and his wife came over, "I repeatedly apologised about what happened, saying it had snagged on my shorts" and offered to pay for any damage.
Last week, professional boxer Kevin Lerena, one of several others dining with the Paralympic star, told the court of how he noticed blood on his toe after the gun went off and Pistorius apologised for the injury.
Earlier, the pathologist who conducted a post-mortem examination on Ms Steenkamp finished giving his evidence at the athlete's murder trial.
The athlete says he mistakenly thought Ms Steenkamp was an intruderProfessor Gert Saayman resumed his testimony about the injuries the model suffered when she was shot through a toilet cubicle door at the runner's home on February 14, 2013.
He told the court Ms Steenkamp was shot three times - in the head, hip and arm - and that it was likely she did scream after being shot in the head.
Prof Saayman also said the amount of urine in Ms Steenkamp's bladder at the time of her death amounted to the rough equivalent of a teaspoon.
The court also heard the model's last meal was consumed no more than two hours before her death.
Ms Steenkamp was shot after 3am, which means she must have eaten after 1am, according to Prof Saayman's evidence.
Pistorius with his head in his hands, earlierPistorius has said the couple were in the bedroom by 10pm.
Cross-examined by defence barrister Barry Roux over the size and timing of her meal, Prof Saayman admitted he was not "an expert in this field" but his conclusions were based on scientific probability.
The double-amputee Olympian, who vomited and retched in court as Prof Saayman gave graphic details of his findings during his first day of evidence, appeared more composed on Tuesday.
A live broadcast of the trial was cut - following a request from the prosecution on behalf of Prof Saayman.
Prosecutor Gerrie Nel said the move was needed to "respect the decency" of Ms Steenkamp and her family and friends.
However, Judge Thokozile Masipa today ruled tweeting on the pathologist's testimony - which had been banned - was now allowed.
Pistorius faces four charges: the premeditated murder of Ms Steenkamp, the illegal possession of ammunition and two further counts related to shooting a gun in public in two separate incidents before the killing.
The athlete, known as Blade Runner, denies all of the charges, including the allegation he deliberately killed his girlfriend after a jealous row.
He maintains he shot Ms Steenkamp after mistaking her for an intruder.
